Hump Day

Day 2 of Project Booty!!
SO far so good!  I def. feel the burn!
Let me say that this soccer season \has really improved my quads!
I love finding workouts in fun outdoor activities, so whenever I can play soccer, tennis, run a 10K, etc I'm all for it!

I've been doing my butt workouts at the apartment gym.
Instead of the bench, I use the stepper with 6 blocks on both sides.

Life is good over here!  Its our last soccer game until the Fall season.
I'm super excited about fall, cause our games will be saturday mornings!
It really brings me back to childhood...

I have a lot of extra energy from these vitamins, so I summer cleaned the apartment.
I'm not big into cleaning..
cooking yes, but I love to eat!
I feel so domesticated.. phew.
Nick and I have a problem letting the garbage pile up, which leaves the apartment smelling naassttyy.
I found this fabulous smelling air freshener thingy...
I've used this twice and I LOVE IT!
Seriously Nick just sits over the stove inhaling this stuff.

I slice up 1 lemon
3-5 sprigs of rosemary
1 TBS vanilla
fill with water
let simmer!

Be careful to monitor the water level...
I've let it simmer a little too long and burn the lemons to the bottom of the pan!
Opps..

Alright Happy Wednesday!

Booty Boot Camp

Hi Ya'll!

Just getting back from my Mom's first appointment @ MD Anderson!
I'm excited were finally at this point in her treatment.
I have an extremely positive attitude.. miraculously..
I believe a lot of her treatment is going to be believing that it will work.
There is no other way!  It has to!  I need someone to help me with my wedding, and babysit all my babies, and bail me out of sticky situations.. so we are both going through this together.  Two bodies are stronger than one right?

Alright on a SERIOUS note.. ha my butt..

Honey Boo Boo!

Hello Blogger World!

I recently stumbled apon a nifty website.
Every week they sponsor a different charity and for every purchase, they donate $7.
Most of the time its a shirt/ sweater/ or bag.
Making a donation while shopping, they cancel each other right out!
Let me know what you think!

So today Nick and I tried out a Greek restaurant.
It was so stinking cute!
You gotta love those family owned and operated..
and Hummus..
That all that went on today really...
This has been a pretty lazy week for me, but I will get my car and phone back tomorrow!

Here's a little clip to get you through the rest of the day..

What you know about that Honey Boo Boo Chiiiillldd?
Love ya'll!

Weekend Wrap up

Hello Bloggers!
How was your weekend?
My 10K went pretty good!  I made it in 59 minutes, and I finished before my boyfriend :)
I had such a great time!  It's a really good feeling waking up at the butt crack of dawn and knocking out 6 miles..
But don't worry, I def made up for the calories lost!
Here's a snap of after the race

We were VERY tired.. I def recommend a good nights rest before a race.. we were just having too much fun.
Oh and look at these awesome new jeans I bought this weekend!
The dressing room attendant INSISTED that my size 4 was too baggy, so I gladly bought the size 2..
Its my first pair of COLORED jeans!

$49.50 @ Express..  And I had a $50 coupon, so they were basically free.
So hurry over!
That's all you get.. lol

An apple a day..

Hi Bloggers!

Here's my little tidbit of information for the day...
An apple a day keeps the doctor away.
Remember that little trick your brother used to play on you.. hold your tongue and say Apple!
Got Ya!

NO seriously.. Did you know...

The skin of an apple contains Pectin, which lowers blood pressure.
Filled with fiber, apples are very filling.
Apples reduce the risk of several types of cancer by over 40% including breast, colon, liver, and lung.
Chewing apples lowers tooth decay.
Apple juice reduces the effects of aging on the brain; preventing alzheimer's.
Eating apples helps with diarrhea and constipation.
Apples boost your immune system.

Other than eatting an apple with peanut butter, I also enjoy them in a smoothie!
I am not a fan of warm fruit.. so this is the closest I get to Apple Pie..

Apple Pie Smoothie

1 Scoop Vanilla Protien
I Raw Apple
 1 TSP Vanilla
1 Tsp Cinnamon
Ice
Splash of Milk

Combine in blender and enjoy!

Juice Detox

My birthday is just around the corner!  We have a beautiful tree house in Seguin and I am ready to party like its 1999!  I've decided to add an extra run this week.  I've also decided to start a juice detox!  We bought a nice juicer and I love it!  I'm going to juice 5 times a day (and hopefully not break down to eat).  Who wants to do the challenge with me?  I'm going for 5 days.. well at least 5 days.  I may decide to let it roll til my birthday!  Here is my plan.  Found it on:   http://gliving.com/the-rawreform-5-day-juice-plan-for-detox-and-weight-loss/

The 5-Day Plan
I recommend that you begin this cleanse on a weekend, as that will likely make it easier to get started in comfort..  I'm a rebel and I'm starting now!
Working Days:
On the weekdays, follow this simple plan for success:
Squeeze fresh citrus juice in the morning to drink before leaving and make 2 litres of juice to take with you for the daytime. Buy fresh bottled juice at lunch. Then make juice again when you are home in the evening. This reduces your juicing to two kitchen sessions – once in the morning and once in the evening.
Monday:
500ml orange/grapefruit juice
1 litre kale/celery/apple
1 litre watermelon juice
1 litre kale/celery/apple
500ml carrot/spinach
Tuesday:
500ml orange/grapefruit juice
1 litre celery/pineapple/red bell pepper
1 litre carrot/apple/ginger/lemon
1 litre celery/pineapple/red bell pepper
500ml tomato/basil juice
Wednesday:
Breakfast: 500ml orange/grapefruit juice
Mid-morning: 1 litre apple/beetroot/ginger/celery/greens
Lunchtime: 500ml orange juice
Afternoon: 1 litre apple/beetroot/ginger/celery/greens
Evening: 1 litre tomato/basil juice
Thursday:
Breakfast: 500ml orange/grapefruit juice
Mid-morning: 1 litre pineapple/greens/celery/mint
Lunchtime: 500ml apple juice
Afternoon: 1 litre pineapple/greens/celery/mint
Evening: 1 litre carrot/spinach
Friday:
Breakfast: 500ml orange/grapefruit juice
Mid-morning: 1 litre apple/celery/cucumber
Lunchtime: 500ml orange juice
Afternoon: 1 litre apple/celery/cucumber
Evening: 1 litre pear/parsley/spinach

"Touch" Rugby

HI Bloggers!!  I tried something new this week!  Tuesday night I went out for a touch rugby game!  My boyfriend plays, so I finally decided to join him on the field..  I was really nervous at first.  I love trying new things, but I had NO CLUE what rugby was (I was actually under the impression it was touch football).  I will say that it was a blast!  I loved it!  The first 30 minutes were a bit rough.. I got hit in the face and I fell a few times, but I liked it!  The boys even gave me a group hug... yay...  My thighs are still aching today.. but I like that too :).  Try it out!  I would say its a mix between soccer and football.. It really helped my honey and I bond a little too!  I also want to add I didn't get a break either.. cause I'm bad ass like that lol.  Still running 3 days a week!  Planning a 5 miler tomorrow over the Kemah bridge!  I'll snap a few pics for my next entry.  Hope you guys had a wonderful week and have big plans for the weekend!!

On another note, my mother can no longer eat dairy, meat, processed food, caffeine, or sugar.. Ay Ay AY!!  So if you have any good recipes, send them my way!  I am going crazy on blogs for recipes... I'm collecting quite a little cook book!  She can have fish!  I wanted to note that.

Made two trips to Galveston this week!  It's been pretty windy, but I always enjoy myself there.  Pleasure Pier is almost ready and my brother can not be more excited!

Happy Tuesday Bloggers! I have a little more moving til I am settled in the new house (finally!!) I am making a dinner tonight to push us through the move. Also, picking up supplies for my healthy food detox! My thoughts on detox: I eat food and if I mess up, its okay! I modify it to fit my lifestyle (i.e. if I want coffee, I'll take it!) So this is more of a laid back plan. I want to do it so I can be healthier for my workouts! Boy is Alex going to be thrilled I have included bacon on the menu for tonight! Hope ya'll enjoy the treats!

Another note on the "detox" I am doing. It is organic and natural. Veggies, Fruit, Whole Wheat, Seafood, Organic Meat, Nuts etc. I will post my meals everyday and the routine I go along with!
Download a meditation app on your phone. I strongly believe this helps me cleanse my mind and body!

Weekend challenge!

Hi all my bloggers out there! I've been trying to find a good fitness blog out there, and I really haven't found anything I love. Here is my idea of one! On here you are likely to find... new recipes, workouts, inspiration, classes I teach, and lots of other healthy stuff! Please email me or comment on anything you would like to see on here! I think it is important that you set goals in workout or have a reward program. I like to put a star on my calendar when I workout or eat reasonably healthy for a whole day. I aim for about 5 per week. Lets try and cut out fast food this weekend. Make it a little challenge! Lets start today! I will make a trip to the grocery store in the afternoon. Share some of your easy healthy meals!

Here is a website that has fun lunch ideas! I'll be working all weekend, so I'm going to need all the help I can get!

tata for now!
