The skin of an apple contains Pectin, which lowers blood pressure.
Filled with fiber, apples are very filling.

Other than eatting an apple with peanut butter, I also enjoy them in a smoothie!
I am not a fan of warm fruit.. so this is the closest I get to Apple Pie..

Juice Detox

My birthday is just around the corner!  We have a beautiful tree house in Seguin and I am ready to party like its 1999!  I've decided to add an extra run this week.  I've also decided to start a juice detox!  We bought a nice juicer and I love it!  I'm going to juice 5 times a day (and hopefully not break down to eat).  Who wants to do the challenge with me?  I'm going for 5 days.. well at least 5 days.  I may decide to let it roll til my birthday!  Here is my plan.  Found it on:   http://gliving.com/the-rawreform-5-day-juice-plan-for-detox-and-weight-loss/

The 5-Day Plan
I recommend that you begin this cleanse on a weekend, as that will likely make it easier to get started in comfort..  I'm a rebel and I'm starting now!
Working Days:
On the weekdays, follow this simple plan for success:
Squeeze fresh citrus juice in the morning to drink before leaving and make 2 litres of juice to take with you for the daytime. Buy fresh bottled juice at lunch. Then make juice again when you are home in the evening. This reduces your juicing to two kitchen sessions – once in the morning and once in the evening.
Monday:
500ml orange/grapefruit juice
1 litre kale/celery/apple
1 litre watermelon juice
1 litre kale/celery/apple
500ml carrot/spinach
Tuesday:
500ml orange/grapefruit juice
1 litre celery/pineapple/red bell pepper
1 litre carrot/apple/ginger/lemon
1 litre celery/pineapple/red bell pepper
500ml tomato/basil juice
Wednesday:
Breakfast: 500ml orange/grapefruit juice
Mid-morning: 1 litre apple/beetroot/ginger/celery/greens
Lunchtime: 500ml orange juice
Afternoon: 1 litre apple/beetroot/ginger/celery/greens
Evening: 1 litre tomato/basil juice
Thursday:
Breakfast: 500ml orange/grapefruit juice
Mid-morning: 1 litre pineapple/greens/celery/mint
Lunchtime: 500ml apple juice
Afternoon: 1 litre pineapple/greens/celery/mint
Evening: 1 litre carrot/spinach
Friday:
Breakfast: 500ml orange/grapefruit juice
Mid-morning: 1 litre apple/celery/cucumber
Lunchtime: 500ml orange juice
Afternoon: 1 litre apple/celery/cucumber
Evening: 1 litre pear/parsley/spinach

"Touch" Rugby

HI Bloggers!!  I tried something new this week!  Tuesday night I went out for a touch rugby game!  My boyfriend plays, so I finally decided to join him on the field..  I was really nervous at first.  I love trying new things, but I had NO CLUE what rugby was (I was actually under the impression it was touch football).  I will say that it was a blast!  I loved it!  The first 30 minutes were a bit rough.. I got hit in the face and I fell a few times, but I liked it!  The boys even gave me a group hug... yay...  My thighs are still aching today.. but I like that too :).  Try it out!  I would say its a mix between soccer and football.. It really helped my honey and I bond a little too!  I also want to add I didn't get a break either.. cause I'm bad ass like that lol.  Still running 3 days a week!  Planning a 5 miler tomorrow over the Kemah bridge!  I'll snap a few pics for my next entry.  Hope you guys had a wonderful week and have big plans for the weekend!!
